Welcome to Growlmama

Growlmama is a space for design-loving dog parents to find & share the things they love doggy-style.

We are not a dog blog per se. We are design-lovers who just happen to love dogs.

Things to do and things we love doggy-style.

Whippet love at Bella Freud.

Bella Freud Eau de Canine smells so sublime

Not to be sniffed at is fashion designer Bella Freud's range of perfume and scented candles. Inspired by Freud's signature knits that have been favoured by fashion hounds Alexa Chung, Laura Bailey and Kate Moss since the 90s, these fragrant treats are beautifully packaged and sublimely scented. Of no surprise our fave is the Signature Eau de Parfum, which bears the image of Bella's beloved whippet. Treat yourself (not your mutt) for a change.

Dine with your dog at Daphne's

At Growlmama HQ our soft spot for dogs extends to a good feed so we're delighted to announce that one of London's finest has opened its doors to our four-legged friends. Sister restaurant to Growlmama favourites, J Sheekey and the legendary IvyDaphne's of Chelsea now welcomes our four-legged friends.

Diners’ beloved dogs are now warmly welcomed into the restaurant's conservatory to join their dog parents on delicious lunch dates. In celebration of this milestone at Daphne’s, British accessories designer and Growlmama to Daphne the Westie, Lulu Guinness has created a special ceramic bowl for those with four feet.
But Cave Canem: Dogs must adhere to a strict code of conduct, which includes such rules as “007 dogs must sit under the tables so that they can spy on their humans’ legs at all times” and “dogs must be charming to Gabriele, the general manager”. So if your pooch is unruly or "spirited" (like ours) best to check here.

Leo Greenfield inks Linda and Winks

When we insta-stumbled upon Leo Greenfield just the other day we were instantly smitten by his whimsical illustrations of the fashion set. So pretty and perfect, and he's Australian to boot. Take, for example, this beautiful illustration of fashion muse Linda Rodin and poodle side-kick Winky. Perfect Art, Perfect Peeps, Perfect pups. Growlmama trifecta. Must follow.

Gucci Poochie

Alessandro Michele, where do we start? For those that follow our insta, you will know we are more than a little obsessed with this amazing Italian who has revived the House of Gucci with opulent collections that cut through our obsession with minimalist chic. Without dithering we point you to the Staffordshire Spaniel bomber and vine-laden kicks for the most stylish park stroll. Think orchids and arbours and wisteria-clad structures. Did we mention he loves Bostons and covets the work of Growlmama fave, Unskilled Worker? There are no words.

Art hound meets fashion hound: Boyarde love

Just as we were putting this blog post to bed we stumbled upon a swoonworthy bag on stylist, Bay Garnett's insta. Some sniffer dog work and we tracked down the culprit -Boyarde the pop artist who will hand-paint your tote just as you like it. Pimp your Gucci or Pucci at Boyarde and share the results with us so we can live vicariously.

Herb Williams responds to the Call of Couture

We came across Herb a little while back and have been patiently waiting the right fashion moment to respond to his "Call of Couture". Herb's crayon sculptures of the animal world (not just dogs) are amaze in their own right but when Prada'd and Chanel'd they are beyond. Herb, what will it take to see these couture creatures in London Town? Hint hint: Rebecca Hossack we think these are right up your street?
