Cool Park Kit & Corgis #10
Things we love and things to do doggy-style.
Dog bosses, it's your day! #BringYourDogToWorkDay
Wracked with guilt each A.M as you leave your mutt for work? Then sign up for a day's respite from those puppy dog eyes!
Bring Your Dog To Work Day is an annual nationwide event that raises money for charities dedicated to making a difference to the welfare of dogs. On Friday 24th June 2016, businesses from across the UK will welcome dogs into the workplace, all in the name of charity. It’s the third national event of its kind and is organised by HOWND natural pet care products. All proceeds this year go to dog rescue charity All Dogs Matter, a charity that rehomes hundreds of dogs every year in London and Norfolk.
Already take your dog to work? No matter, you or your business can still take part by becoming an official sponsor. Get involved and support a great cause. #WinWin
Local shades for local people that won't break the bank
Realising that expensive sunglasses are "always the first casualty of a big adventure" (read: very long lunch), a group of mates from Bondi Beach has created the perfect pair of sunglasses.
Local Supply shades are durable, stylish and at a price tag that won't break the bank (or reduce you to tears if you leave them in a cab). With lightweight nylon frames, polarised lenses and iconic silhouettes, they're park and pub perfect.
Pictured is the Freeway in Federal. Shop up and at Browns.
A different kind of Poocci
We love Black Score's irreverent T's, each one hand-printed and bearing a tongue-in-cheek message that is guaranteed to put a smile on your dial (like the play on fashion house Pucci pictured).
Check out also the label's collaboration with charity PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) - "a range of t-shirts and sweatshirts featuring some pretty pissed off little dudes". Proceeds from every sale go towards PETA's efforts to protect animals of all kinds.
What's old is new again. Walkies with VANS
VANS - kicks that have been around for longer than even us but, thanks to their classic styling, you can still love.
Having spotted some cool kids in this pair last week we decided it time to (RE)snap them up! As VANS say, "the popularity of the Sk8-Hi look is a favourite amongst skaters, musicians, artists, and counter culture types alike". We're so counter-culture.
A perennial classic that won't disappoint.
In almost every picture #5
Leafing through our ever-expanding dog library we came across one of our favourite tails (sic). "In Almost Every Picture", a series of photo books comprised of images found by the crew at Kessels Kramer, never fails to disappoint.
No.5 is no exception. Made by the owners of a special and photogenic Dalmatian and curated by Erik Kessels and Marion Blomeyer, this pocket size collection of pics traces the life of a dog and it's owners. We see this beautiful Dally in many locations as the central subject in almost every picture and we look for her over and over again even when other people or dogs enter the frame. A poignant tale of doggy love told without words.
You're corgially invited to the Queen's 90th. Two doggy dates not to be missed!
It's the Queen's big Nine-O this weekend and you and your pups are invited to join in.
Corgi-mamas you're on an exclusive guest list for "Royal Tea' at Sketch London (one of our all-time favourite restaurant interiors - rose velvet lounges and Shrigley prints, but ah we digress...) Hosted by the UK Corgi Club and Marcel le Corgi there'll be tea and sweet treats for Growlmamas and handmade Hungry Hounds bones for your mutt (and all on the house!) 11am-2pm, Sunday 12 June. RSVP essential.
Don't have a Corgi? Fear not! Corgiless Growlmamas you can still raise a glass to HRH at the Bark Walk Street Pawty in Chelsea's Park Walk (see what they did there?). You'll feast on fare from top local restaurants; including burgers from Gordon Ramsay's Maze Grill, pizza from GOAT and truffle mac 'n' cheese from the Henry Root, while your puppers scoff treats from the Dog Treat Company or indulge in the spa. With eats for a tenner and all proceeds going to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home it'd be rude not to really. 12-6pm, Sunday 12 June.
Role reversal: Share a pint with your pup & let him walk you home
Self-described as "a woofing taste sensation to raise our best friends spirits and get their tails wagging" Woof Dog Beer is the latest thirst quencher for your pampered pup.
By combining an elixir of bone broth & barley malt, Woof claim to have made "liquid gold, so delectable dogs of all shapes and sizes (can't) resist it."
What's more this beef-tasting beer is said to improve digestive health, boost your dog's immune system and, promote healthy skin, coat & joints. Most importantly of all, it won't get him drunk.
Available at these locations.
